Nynehead Court is an exclusive Residential Care Home for the discerning resident, seeking gracious retirement living.The home and grounds are maintained to a very high standard.
Location
The magnificent Grade II* listed 17th Century manor house, nestling at the centre of the award winning ‘Best Village in Somerset’, sits in 13 acres of level parkland, with formal gardens, a parterre, pinetum, icehouse, croquet lawn and has beautiful 13th century Grade 1 Listed Parish Church adjacent.
The Home
Nynehead Court has spacious, elegantly furnished drawing and dining rooms, a library and a television room. Most private rooms are large bed-sitting rooms, each with its own ensuite, with additional bathrooms equipped to facilitate bathing for those who need assistance. There is also a flat within the main building.
Each room has the individual character that might be expected of an elegant country house. Residents enjoy a hotel style of living, combining comfort and a high degree of independence with the reassuring security of the best possible support and care for those who want it.
Philosophy of Care
Nynehead Court aim to provide all residents with a gracious and caring environment in which to live and be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities. Staff will be responsive to the individual needs of residents and will provide the appropriate degree of care to assure the highest possible quality of life within the home.
All senior care staff within the home will be appropriately qualified to deliver the highest standards of care. A continuous staff-training programme is implemented to ensure that high standards are maintained in line with the latest initiatives and developments.
Carers will strive to preserve and maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere, and in doing so will be sensitive to the resident’s ever changing needs.
Residents are encouraged to participate in the development of their individual care plans in which the involvement of family and friends is greatly valued.
Our Services
Residents have the regular services of a hairdresser and access to the appropriate health care professionals as required including medical consultants, general practitioners, community nurses and mental Health teams.
The Activities
There is a full programme of activities, organised social events, and visits for residents to choose from. Within the home there are exercise classes, social events including drinks parties and coffee mornings. Our Staff are here to ensure you can enjoy and persue your individual interests, whether this is bird watching or enjoying the grounds using the golf buggy.
Visitors are made welcome at any reasonable time in accordance with the wishes of theresidents and relatives are able to stay the night.
The Cuisine
The home menu is wholesome and varied and carefully takes in to account the needs and preferences of each of the residents. Only good quality food is used for our menus and is sourced fresh from local suppliers where possible. Residents are made to feel very much at home with snacks available whenever they require them.
The Cost
The home’s current fee range [as at January 2006] is between £550.00 and £945.00 and are dependant upon the room to be occupied.
Extra charges are met by the service user for personal toiletries, hairdressing, clothing and newspapers. Free newspapers are available in the main sitting room. Chiropody, reflexology and physiotherapy are provided within the weekly fee.
