Opened in 1976, Mill Lane offers specialised nursing care for the elderly and has an enviable reputation in the local community for its high quality care.
Set within it’s own grounds Mill Lane is registered to provide nursing care, residential and personal care for up to 25 elderly residents of which 6 of those require dementia care.
The location
Mill Lane is situated in the Old Town residential area of Felixstowe, in it’s own well maintained gardens. Although it is not central to the town of Felixstowe it is conveniently near to a range of shops and amenities and the sea front, is only about half a mile away.
The Home
The Home, at one time the local doctor’s surgery, has been sympathetically extended to now offer a choice of welcoming reception rooms with attractive patio areas, all available for our residents and their guests to enjoy. Although our rooms are fully furnished, we encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal effects to complement those already provided so that their room can become an individual retreat.
All our accommodation is in single rooms with en-suite facilities, providing our residents with a comfortable, inviting and private living space. We encourage our residents to bring in some of their own belonging to make them feel at home and to personalise their rooms.
Our Philosophy of Care
We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full. We aim to make our residents’ lives enjoyable and satisfying, enabling them to meet new friends and keep in touch with existing ones. Family and friends are always welcome at Mill Lane and we value their involvement in our resident’s care. Above all, we promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry.
We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required.
Our Services
An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages.
The Activities
Mill Lane has the benefit of an Activities Co-ordinator with whom Residents can arrange to take part in as many or as few activities as they wish. There is a range of activities which include, include, fitness quest, bus outings of resident’s choice, aromatherapy, reminiscence therapy, pottery and art therapy.
To ensure that our residents continue to have an active social life, the homes’ minibus regularly takes residents to the local theatre, on shopping trips or to benefit from the fresh sea air of the nearby coastline. If you simply wish for peace and tranquillity, well maintained gardens surround the Home, allowing you to enjoy a haven from the bustle of the town.
Visiting arrangements are flexible so that the residents are able to see relatives and friends whenever they wish and all visitors are made to feel very welcome.
