Abingdon Court is a new [2006], purpose built specialist dementia home in the historic town of Abingdon. It has been designed and equipped to a high standard to offer dementia services to up to 64 residents, catering for all levels of dementia care as specific needs arise.

Abingdon Court has been beautifully decorated and furnished to the very highest standard. Each floor has been individually designed to create a high quality luxury home from home. All residents have their own en-suite rooms, with TV and telephone points. The home is equipped with a hairdressing salon, private parking, as well as a lounge and dinning facilities on each floor. The south facing well stocked garden is bathed in light for most of the day and the river Ock forms a natural boundary to the rear of the garden.

The homely feel at Abingdon Court is nurtured by the staff. The team have been carefully selected not only for their professional ability, but also because of their dedication and commitment to making a difference by helping everyone in the home to have a happy and fulfilling life.

The team of registered nurses and carers provide 24 hour, round-the-clock care and support for each resident according to their individual needs.

Abingdon Court's Activities Co-ordinator ensures that there is always something going on. Residents can take part in keep fit classes, quiz nights and Bridge evenings or enjoy the talking newspapers and the classical music club. Just how involved the residents want to be is entirely up to them. For those who prefer, it is always possible to find seclusion and a quiet corner in which to read a, listen to music or simply relax in the garden.

The home provides excellent, home cooked food made from fresh ingredients, and naturally, caters for any special dietary requirements.

Abingdon Court Care Home can provide just about all the benefits of living at home, but with a few extras that can make a world of difference to the quality of life for people living with the experience of dementia.
